From the couple:
We were friends for 5 years, dated for 1 year, engaged for a year. We lived 5 houses away from each other. Dave proposed at a winery in Napa Valley—just the two of us overlooking the vineyards, rose petals on the floor, slow dancing…and then our families came out right after I said yes!
Wedding Style:
We wanted a romantic and classic vibe throughout. Being from Livermore ourselves, we felt that having our reception at a winery was true to our personalities. My dress was a custom made ivory, ballgown style dress, with a 9 foot organza train. The bridesmaid dresses were light rose, A-line cut, charmeuse and tulle dresses. The groom and the groomsmen wore black, 3 piece tuxedos, with black bowties.
Wedding Florals:
We definitely wanted peonies as our main flower, with white roses and other wine colored flowers as accents. We didn’t want greenery in the bouquets at all. The boutonnieres were white and pink roses, that complemented the style of the bouquets. We had only had 2 big bouquets of white roses and white spider mums at the altar for our ceremony, no decorations on the aisle.
Wedding Reception:
Traditions included the coins (arras), veil (lazzo), and the blessing of the candles. We picked the Palm because of its awesome reputation and because of its ambiance.
