From the couple:
It all started with a swipe right on Tinder 3 years ago. Two years later Phil proposed on a hike in Big Sur at McWay Falls on Super Bowl Sunday. It was also my 10 year anniversary with my (now our) dog, Chewie 🙂 Phil did an excellent job on my oval diamond ring with a diamond band and a diamond halo around the bottom on the diamond. I love my ring!!
Wedding Theme:
The first time I tried on my wedding dress one of my bridesmaid said “it’s so romantic!” And from that moment I decided that would be the theme. As a caterer myself I have worked with brides over the years and seen a lot of different themes/looks. Also Phil and I over the last few years together have attended over 10 weddings together. I’ve been mentally noting things I do and don’t like over this time period and was able to create my perfect day!
Thank you for capturing it for us!
Wedding Styles:
My dress wasn’t your classic wedding gown. It was a “pearl white” and had a lace bodice. I loved the skirt because it felt like it cascaded down my body. Also, I opted to not wear a veil. I wore a simple diamond necklace that my sister in law loaned to me as my something borrowed. My earrings were a rose gold pear shaped diamond drop earring. I didn’t wear any other jewelry because I felt that the dress was beautiful all on its own. My shoes were truly the hardest part! I bought 6 different pairs before finding the perfect ones. They were a silk light pink gladiator style with cute little bows on them. Unfortunately they got soooo dirty at the wedding that I likely will not wear them again.
Bridal Party:
My girls all wore mismatched dresses within my color pallet. I wanted them to wear something that they felt beautiful in and fit their body. So, I did pick out dresses from Weddington Way as example dresses, but gave them the option to look elsewhere. I was so pleased when it all came together!!
We went with a glam look for hair and makeup 🙂 Phil and the guys all wore the same thing…grey suits with Marsala colored ties and champagne pocket squares. Brown shoes and belts. They all looked so handsome!
Wedding Florals:
I gave my florist inspirational photos from Pinterest and requested that he use florals that were in season to achieve a similar look. I purchased the silk ribbon for the bouquets and gave that to him. For the boutonnières and corsages I requested he play off the bouquets 🙂 they did a fantastic job!
Ceremony:
We had a very simple clean look. White wooden and metal chairs. The arch had a simple garland and a sheer white drape. We chose all instrumental music. Bridal Party Entrance: Ellie Goulding- How long will I love you My entrance: The Beatles- Here comes the sun Recessional: Queen- My Best Friend .
My mom did a beautiful reading and so did Phil’s parents. Phil’s little brother and youngest sibling was our officiant.
Reception:
We chose the location because it was unique. As I previously mentioned we have been/I have worked at a lot of different types of venues. But nothing like Roles Ranch 🙂
Our welcome drinks included: infused water, watermelon aqua Fresca, and Phil’s gringo sangria 🙂 We offered a full bar to our guest throughout the event after the ceremony.
Décor:
All the table settings had a green garland runner with white florals. Our table numbers where written in English and Italian as a nod to Phil’s roots and our family style dinner service. I loved our mismatched glassware! Phil really didn’t want to have pink glassware but was happy with the look once it all came together 🙂 the gold chargers/flatware and rimmed China looked fantastic together with my dusty rose napkins all perfectly set on wooden farm tables with cross-back chairs.
Our sweetheart table was gorgeous with the rose gold sequin linen and our white couch 🙂 only bummer is that my bouquet never made it to our table as our centerpiece. I still don’t know where it ended up 🙁 oh well! Also I found the Mr & Mrs signs for $10 at the goodwill! What a score!
Highlights:
I could seriously ramble on about this perfect day and the set up….which I played a huge role in as a professional event planner and caterer!
We relocated down to the barn for the reception and live band! They did a fantastic job on covering Elton Johns “Your Song” for our first dance.
Just to remember why you are there in the first place…. And be nice to your wedding party and family. Even if they annoy you! Don’t say or do something you might regret later. I got a little snippy with my MOH in the moment and wish I could take that back.
