Joseph & Lyndsy’s Backyard wedding is the epitome of wonder. There was not an ounce of low spirits or COVID-19 in the air of this joyous event.
From the Couple:
We had been cast in MACBETH at Cal Shakes and about a week before rehearsals began I thought to myself, if I’m going to ask the question, every narrative sign points to this. We met at the theatre 15 years before and now we would be performing, in love and ready to take on the world together. I kept it in the back of my mind as we began to run the show. With closing night approaching I spoke with her parents and my parents and set the scene.
With my great-grandmother’s ring in my pocket, we closed the show and cleared the stage. I arranged with the stage manager to hold off the stage crew for 10 minutes so I could coax Lyndsy onstage for a closing night “photo”. It was a beautiful night. The stage was suddenly lit up in blue and I got on one knee and asked the all-changing question.
When she said yes “Golden State” by John Doe (Lyndsy’s favorite member of the legendary punk band X) began to play. (We will be performing this song ourselves at the wedding). Having warned everyone in the company, we returned to the green room and a shower of love, our families our friends and perhaps the most intensely joyful moment of my life.”
