Dakarai & Kyle’s Hunger Games Themed Wedding Photos
Here is a photographer curated collection of photos from the Hunger Games themed wedding of Dakarai and Kyle. While this wedding is an absolute feast for the eyes, our favorite part of this wedding was celebrating one of our most favorite people and original founder of Apollo Fotografie, the legendary Jonathan Dakarai! It was a fabulous, heartfelt, loved filled day full of deliciously detailed costumes, intricate make up, and a hauntingly beautiful horse.
Getting Ready Before the Hunger Games themed Wedding
Getting ready for the wedding is always such a special part of every couples wedding day. Most weddings don’t need to allow for extra time to apply rhinestones, but this one clearly did. Dakarai and Kyle’s bedecked themselves with jewels, dramatic and colorful makeup, intricate masks, exquisite footwear and attire. Our grooms also wore the most beautiful floral boutonnieres unlike any we’ve ever seen. Lots of colors, crystals, and exceedingly oversized, these creations from Daisy Head Florals were beyond perfection!
Couples Portraits
Dakarai and Kyle’s couple’s portraits before their Hunger Games themed wedding were absolutely breathtaking. Between their unparalleled fashions juxtaposed with the industrial interiors of the Old Sugar Mill and their incredible session with the beautiful unicorn horn outfitted black horse that Dakarai would later ride down the aisle during the wedding ceremony, these couples portraits are on a whole other level.
The Wedding Ceremony
Dakarai and Kyle’s Hunger Games themed wedding ceremony was unforgettable. The wedding party wore a rainbow of colors and were elaborately dressed and styled, keeping with the wedding theme. Dakarai rode down the aisle on a majestic black unicorn, complete with floral horn, to meet his love at the altar. The sun shone on this beautiful outdoor ceremony, and even the wedding guests looked the part in their fanciful themed costumes. Our grooms recessional was peppered with bubbles, enormous smiles, and Dakarai and Kyle’s radiating love.
Wedding Party Portraits
This wedding album wouldn’t be complete without some amazing wedding party portraits! Their costumes and show of love for Dakarai and Kyle made for some stellar portraits and candid moments. These portraits are full of color, fashion, and the feeling of love in the air that day.
Hunger Games Themed Wedding Reception
Dakarai and Kyle’s Hunger Games themed wedding reception was beyond amazing. Our couple’s reception was held at Old Sugar Mill in Sacramento and furnished with gorgeous rentals from Getting Hitched Weddings. There was a fun lighted checkerboard dance floor, amazing florals, and plenty of champagne. With a dance floor full of themed costumed guests, this was an absolutely perfect end to the most extravagant and extraordinary wedding we’ve ever had the pleasure of attending!

A Love Poem For The Happy Couple:
“I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be.
I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals, I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little.
A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall. The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstasies of desire are working for a larger and finer growth. Not always shall you be what you are now. You are going forward toward something great. I am on the way with you and therefore I love you.”
