Katherine & Michael’s Testarossa Wedding Photos
Here is a photographer curated collection of photos from Katherine and Michael’s Testarossa wedding. It was such a beautiful day and we were so happy we were able to be there for this lovely couple’s big day!
“Don’t let the stress of the wedding day overtake you. It’s easy to get caught up in all the drama and last minute issues, but that will really stop you from being in the moment and enjoying your wedding day. Just try to go with the flow as much as possible!”

Background and Wedding Planning:
Michael‘s family is of Scottish heritage so we wanted to incorporate the McAllister family tartan in our wedding, which is why we chose red and blue. It also helped that we both love those colors. I am from Australia with Maltese heritage, so my bouquet included eucalyptus leaves to remind me of home. We didn’t have an overtly obvious theme, but we do love that we found each other from across the world and our cake topper represented that. We really wanted our wedding to be filled with flowers without it being too overwhelming. To continue with the Scottish heritage motif, the boutonnieres and my bouquet had blue thistle incorporated. I really love peonies and a really loose style of floral arrangement, like it’s just been picked from a garden, so our florist was fantastic at creating that style for us.
Wedding:
We wrote our own vows and got one of our very good friends to officiate our wedding, which made it all the more special. We also lit a candle before the ceremony, to represent Katherine‘s mum. Michael‘s dapper Scottish kilt, kilt jacket and waistcoat came all the way from Scotland and represents the McAllister clan. He has always wanted his family’s kilt and his wedding day was the perfect opportunity to fulfill that dream. It was finished off with the sporran (the bag), knee socks complete with traditional sgian dubh (sock knife) and flashes, and Ghillie Brogues.
Katherine went dress shopping with some Aunties back home in Australia and thought she’d found her dream dress. But when she tried it on again in a store in San Jose, CA, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try on a few more. And that’s how she found her dress. The matching belt and hair piece were the icing on the cake! Katherine moved from Sydney, Australia to San Francisco to start a new job. That’s where she and Michael first met and after a few misunderstood sentences (accents tend to get in the way) the rest is history!
Proposal:
Michael proposed while on vacation in Maui. We had watched the sunrise over the top of the Haleakala volcano crater, almost ran out of gas on the way to breakfast, then visited a lavender garden where we sat on a bench to enjoy the view. That’s when Michael popped the question. As for our vows! We gave each other a word limit then wrote our vows separately. It was a lovely moment to be able to hear what the other had written!
