From the couple:
Our wedding was rather intimate, with only closest friends and family members. When planning this day, we only wanted it to feel like a gathering of friends to celebrate love. Hence, we did not have any particular theme in mind, we simply picked styles we liked, knowing that the most important thing at the wedding would be love. We went with natural, delicate colors of white, mauve and blush pink for the florals. A touch of greens and succulents made the bouquet fit the garden ceremony very well. Our family means very much to us, so we gave out corsages and bouts to all our family and friends to tell them how much we appreciate their help during the planning.
Wedding Traditions:
I am Russian, so a couple of touches to incorporate my culture in the wedding were Russian nesting dolls used as centerpieces at the reception tables, as well as naming the tables after Russian cities. We also wrote each of the guests’ names on the place cards in Russian, which they absolutely loved. We knew we wanted to have a photo booth at our wedding, and we can confidently say that it was the most popular activity at our wedding.
Style:
It took me so many hours in the bridal stores to find a perfect dress! I had no idea about what style I wanted, so I went through a lot of fittings. It might sound cheesy, but at the end it was exactly like they describe it in the movies I put on the dress and knew instantly this is it. It was a strapless, tight fitting dress with a long train and large lace on top of it. My shoes were my “something blue” a very elegant sky blue color block heel.
Michael looked very stylish in his midnight blue tuxedo that he matched with his best man his father. Our love story and our proposal story is described perfectly by Mike on our website www.whenmikeymetpoli.com, so we really recommend you checking it out!
The Wedding Day:
The most anticipated moment for both of us was to read our vows and look in each others eyes during the ceremony. One of the most special moments for us ended us being the First Look, which neither of us expected! But the way Michael looked at me and smiled when he first saw me with my completed look, made me feel the most loved woman on the planet.
