From the couple:
We met in November of 2016 and got engaged April 21, 2017. We wanted to get married exactly a year later. He proposed at a winery. He purchased a princess cut ring from tiffany.
Theme:
We used the scenery of the vineyard to carry the décor. We kept the rest rustic and casual. I wore a sweetheart, modified A-line lace dress, with built-in lace straps and a medium train. My husband wore his Marine Corps uniform. The bridesmaids picked out their own individual dresses and the groomsmen wore charcoal tuxes from Men’s Wearhouse.
Florals:
We didn’t have flowers for décor. My grandmother just put together some hydrangeas for small bouquets for the ceremony only. We did not decorate the space. Honestly, we didn’t want to take away from the vineyard. We had a friend officiate the wedding.
Ceremony:
Our recessional song was Sam Cooke- You Send Me, which was our second choice for our first dance. We chose it when we first visited Kunde a few months after dating. We did the mountain top tour and fell in love with it.
Highlights:
Even though we weren’t engaged at the time, we both decided at that moment to get married there. We created our own centerpieces. We wanted it casual so used a lot of votive candles and hurricane vases with wine corks. Our first dance song was Eric Clapton- Pretty Girl.
A Love Poem For The Happy Couple:
“I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be.
I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals, I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little.
A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall. The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstasies of desire are working for a larger and finer growth. Not always shall you be what you are now. You are going forward toward something great. I am on the way with you and therefore I love you.”
