Kelly & Fred’s Whimsical Thespian Wedding

wedding dress

I fell in love with the dress and wanted to keep all the accessories simple. The pockets in the skirt were a hit with everybody.

Fred-I wanted formal, but not stuffy. The gray three-piece tuxedo was perfect. The tie was handmade to match the plum color.

We met doing theater, and became great friends. Then, we dated for six years. Our relationship is centered around our faith and has a big dose of silliness.

wedding bouquet

The bouquet was made by EcoFlower. They provide eco-friendly alternatives to real flowers. Which also means I can keep the bouquet as long as I like.

wedding ceremony

We had a simple, unplugged, faith-centered ceremony. We emphasized the idea of community.

Our first dance turned into our ‘first fight’, complete with white gloves and swords.

The ceremony and reception all were held on the terrace because of its gorgeous views.

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.”

Most couples reserve their date in our calendars 12+ months prior to their wedding day.

From the bride… We met doing theater, and became great friends. Then, we dated for six years. Our relationship is centered around our faith and has a big dose of silliness. We got engaged on a beach in the Outer Banks. We picked out our rings together-both have elements of motion.

We had a simple, unplugged, faith-centered ceremony. We emphasized the idea of community. The bride’s entrance was to ‘Every Little Thing She Does is Magic’. Our friend played ‘Unfailing Love’ as part of the welcome. During the blessing, ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’ was sung by an a cappella quartet of our friends. The recessional song was ‘When I’m 64’.

The bouquet was made by EcoFlower. They provide eco-friendly alternatives to real flowers. Which also means I can keep the bouquet as long as I like. The colors were a custom design. Fred’s boutonnière was made to match, and our parents were given simple white flowers in their accessories.

The ceremony and reception all were held on the terrace because of its gorgeous views. The centerpieces utilized the same flowers as in the bouquet and other natural elements.  In lieu of a wedding cake, we opted for a gelato cart. The photo booth produced some classic photos of our friends and family. Our first dance turned into our ‘first fight’, complete with white gloves and swords.
