Diana & Maksym’ Wintertime San Francisco Wedding

We met October 2015 at the gym, where he was my coach.

I left that gym August 2016 when my year contract ended. On new New Years day, I sent him a text wishing him Happy New Year!

after that, we continued staying in touch when we finally went out to dinner on January 18, 2017.

After that day we were inseparable, spending every free time we had together. In September 2017 we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

We were very nontraditional from the beginning, so I knew our engagement would be too.

I decided I would propose to him, which I did! I propose to him with a Love Book I created online with our Love Story and at the end, my character on the book got on one knee asking Maksym to marry me.

Our rings are nontraditional as well.

I decided on a rose gold band with white diamonds on it and a blue sapphire in the center because it’s his birthstone.

I got his ring and then ended up changing it.For his ring, I choose a ring made of Antique Walnut with Colorado Elk Antler and Double Rose Gold Inlays

“Make sure you take everything in because your wedding day goes by in an instant.”

Most couples reserve their date in our calendars 12+ months prior to their wedding day.

For our aesthetic, we just went off the color scheme and tried to make it as simple as possible.

We decided to coordinate with the color scheme. Both of my dresses were not fully white, one was ivory and the other was beige with white lace over. I wanted both dresses to be simple, elegant and modern. His suit was easy to pick because he looks great in navy blue. We decided on a burgundy/wine color tie because we already had a lot of rose gold throughout the wedding.

My brother is very vreative so I asked him to do the flowers. He had never done flower arrangements for an event, so we took a class and joing a flower wholesaler to get good pricing on the flowers. We decided on burgundy, peach colors to go along witht the color theme. We chose roses, carnations and small roses.

Our ceremony was quick, we had it at SF City Hall. The building is so beautiful. Only our families joined us for it, we wanted it to keep it small and private. We used the building as our back drop.

Our reception, we were a bit nervous because for the first time we were mixing a lot of groups of people together under one roof. We were concerned they wouldn’t have fun. Everyone had a great time and danced all night long. Our centerpieces were rose fold candle holders with a flower arrangement around it. Our guest table set up looked gorgeous, with rose gold table runners, burgundy napkins with the ivory favor boxes on top of the napkins. Everyone enjoyed the photobook including the kids after they enjoyed the kid’s table with games and coloring pages. Our first dance was Perfect, the cover by Leroy Sanchez. When we heard it we both cried and knew it was the song we wanted to dance to. We opened the dance floor with Despacito and from there on the Dancefloor was never empty. We chose Freedom Hall & Gardens because its an all-inclusive package and it was stress-free and we were able to execute our wedding with just a month on planning.
