From the couple:
We were “set up” by family. Bride’s dad trained groom’s brother as an MMA fighter and the families knew we would make a good match. We dated long distance for a couple of years before moving in together in the East Bay, then buying a home together.
Proposal:
We dated for 5 years before Dathan popped the question, at home in our PJ’s on my birthday eve @ midnight! Dathan had Jessie’s ring custom made- he picked it all out himself.
Décor:
We worked with the natural beauty of our rustic venue, but our florist worked her magic adding pops of glam with lots of mixed metals, glass, and beautiful floral & greenery. We wanted to have a dinner party vibe- with old school bluesy music and lots of good food & wine.
Wedding Style:
Bride: wanted a simple glam look; casually elegant. No bridal party- just the two of us to fit with our small family wedding. Loved the fresh, clean yet natural look. Added a charm with my grandma’s picture to my bouquet so she would be there close with me- I lost her recently and we were very close.
Ceremony & Reception:
More greenery, candles behind us with large doors & wine barrels framing. Family mixed between both sides of seating- it was intimate, simple, sweet. Bride walked down the aisle to “Stand By Me”. Cocktail hour was outdoors on the upstairs terrace with old school music playing, and passed drinks & appetizers. Dinner was seated indoors with a four-course meal and lots of wine. Our first dance was to an Otis Redding song: “Your Precious Love“. Don’t sweat the small stuff or feel pressured to have things a “certain way”, it will be beautiful no matter what.
