Laura and Jack’s wedding day took place on August 11, 2012 in luxurious resort and winery, Bernardus Lodge in Carmel, CA. Laura and Jack’s colorful relationship, extends beyond the screen and enlivens most people that surround them . Laura and Jack chose to see each other before the wedding ceremony and create a more intimate atmosphere for their first look on their wedding day. Following their first look and a few tears the champagne popped and the bubbles flew through the air throughout the ceremony and the wedding reception. Following some beautiful wedding portraits with the bride and groom in the winery, we all fled to play croquet and eat some delicious appetizers prepared by the Bernardus Lodge staff. This night ended in wild laughter and some of the craziest dancers of 2012.

Haley and Chad’s playful and romantic wedding ceremony took place at the famous Sunset Magazine Gardens in San Francisco on July 28th, 2012. ”Lively” and ‘animated” are words that don’t even begin to describe this now-married couple, and all their friends and family. The day swam in sunshine as a gentle breeze comforted your summer skin. Into the wedding reception, the group unleashed their inner children onto the dance floor as the aromas of baby back ribs and summer bbq filed the warm air. As the night came to a close, lanterns and twinkle lights illuminated the wedding venue revealing a LOT of people, having a LOT of fun! xo

Lingjie and Jason were a fun couple to work with, and have a small rivalry…Jason attended University at Berkeley while Lingjie went to Standford. To settle this, we photographed their engagement photos on the Berkeley campus, and their Wedding portraits on Stanford’s campus. These photos are from Stanford’s campus, and are exceptionally stunning. The architecture, the lighting, and of course the subjects are all beautiful. Don’t let me tell you though…see for yourself!
Tracie and Chris’ wedding celebration occurred at the historic English hotel, The Pelican Inn. The inn itself is a gorgeous mini-labyrinth of rooms and packed full of finely decorated antique furnishings. The space makes for the perfect backdrop for the photos for the wedding portraits and during the reception. For the ceremony, we strolled to the ceremony site about half a mile to Muir Beach with all of the bridal party and wedding guests. Accompanying our walk, Ms. Steffy Sue gently strummed the Sea of Love by Cat Powers on her tiny guitar and humming her tinier kazoo.

Lara and Michael’s warm hearted, culturally diverse, and beautifully located wedding took place on July 19th, 2012 at the Silver Creek Valley Country Club outside of San Jose, CA. The country club houses a gorgeous man-made waterfall, as well as majestic interiors to dine and dance the night away. Relatives came from around the world to witness their vows, get to know new family members, and offer their emotional support to Lara and Michael on one of the most memorable days of their lives!

Laura and Senya’s elegant wedding ceremony took place on June 23rd, 2012 at the Cliff House in San Francisco. The Cliff House is a historial landmark which overlooks Ocean Beach near the Suttro Baths. This stunning venue, which is operated by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, is the perfect venue for Laura and Senya to celebrate their life together. The gentle ocean breeze, sounds of splashing waves, and families coming together from very different cultural backgrounds, made this wedding a pleasure to photograph . The exquisite catering provided by the Cliff House, beautiful custom made centerpieces, and colorful ,mouth watering cupcakes were additional details that distinguished this wedding from the rest.

Lance and Io’s meditative wedding retreat took place over three days the first weekend in July at the Venture Retreat Center outside of the small town of Pescadero, California. Within the deeply wooded surroundings of the San Francisco Bay Area — peace, nature, and inter-personal connections blossomed like summer roses, buzzed with the bumble bees, and hummed with humming birds, as the trees gently whispered their love songs delivered on the wind.
Amidst the sounds of laughter and giggling, the space opened for friends and family to mingle amongst swimming, hiking, playing music, and drinking kegs of home-made beer. The wedding day had many traditional moments like the bouquet toss and garter removal, but also had plenty of contemporary ones such as a womb blessing ceremony, as well as a fire ceremony where guests were allowed to “burn away” negative attachments and habit patterns.
In addition to wedding videography, Lance and Io also opted for two amazing photographers to be at their wedding! These photographs parallel their experience, as well as their wedding video, and help to bask in individual moments gloriously. Laura and Ben’s avant-garde wedding ceremony took place on June, 3, 2012 at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, California. In this quaint town 1.5 hours north of San Francisco, Laura and Ben’s wedding celebration rocked this theater and music hall to the beat of a different drum. When they told us their names were going to be in the marquee, we knew we would get along — as photographers and musicians most often do. :)
In addition to the dolled up wedding details, like french manicures and bow ties – they also broke out clown noses for the entire bridal party and many of the guests. We absolutely loved the fine line between elegance, grace, and absurdity!
